How do I connect cistern fill to flexi-hose (see image attached)

A plumber gave me a quote for the job and said the cistern needs replacing as its obsolete but its not what was leaking. Now i need to connect the concealed plastic cistern to the supply pipe. Any idea what I would need or would replacing the whole thing be simpler?
