I have heat pump, "max fuse 31 amp" "min 17amp"
I got a 60 amp non fuse disconnect
Can I use Romex 10/2 or should I stick with 6/2?
It will be wired to my main panel
Thanks, I'll take all and any insight!

Your #10 would be fine. Reference to 31amps will be the starting current...it likely only draws 15-20amps. Keep the #10 Romex.

However, when you refer to "60amp non fusible disconnect", is this the disconnect outside beside the condenser? If yes, look at your interior panelboard and identify the ampacity (amp) of the breaker that your AC is on? (2-pole 60?, 50?, 40?, 30?, 20?) If the ampacity of the breaker (feeding your AC) in the house is a 2-pole 30 or 40, you'll be ok as.

Let us know.
