Hi all, I’m about to undertake a small diy project. I’m looking to build a small flat roof to bridge an area over my patio that will connect my brick shed entrance to my house wall but wanted some advice before I start.
I have very little head height to work with so my choice of timber is either 45x70 or 45x95mm to be overlaid with 18mm OSB3 board. Since the roof is not weight bearing would the 45x70mm timber be suitable?
I plan to fix the joist hangers (50mm) into the concrete lintel above my shed door and the brick below. Are brown rawl plugs ok for the brick fixing? What would you recommend for the lintel?
Do I need guttering on such a small roof?
If I do, I’ll need to slop the roof lengthways. Would I then leave the felt edge lose and long to allow the water to run in the guttering?
