We took the old ugly tub out from the laundry room, and replaced it with a regular sink, so we can have an extra place to wash face, brush teeth etc. Kept the primer tube. After 10 years, yesterday, the pipe broke in basement and flooded the ceiling.
I know the function of this tube, but is a nuisance, so snipped it and eliminated. I have a P trap in basement to cater for the smell. Is there any other reason this pipe is required ??
