hope this is the correct forum?

We have a soft close toilet seat, and it keeps sliding to one side or the other.
I've tightened the screws etc.
Even took it off, cleaned the pan and even tried "No nails" Still not secure?
Got any tips, anyone, please? My wife's giving me gip about it

Can you tell where the toilet seat is sliding from? Is it from the fixings moving/twisting around on the ceramic, or is it the toilet seat sliding along the hinges? If it's the former, I wonder about just changing the fixings?

Yes, it's twisting/moving on the ceramic top, where the fixings go through the pan.
I've tightened them as much as possible.

Are the screws going in to a nylon fixing that looks a bit like a wall plug or does the screw drop all the way through the pan and have a nut on the bottom?

It goes right through the pan.
As stated..i have thoroughly cleaned the pan where it's screwed through and even tried no nails lol.

Very strange! I'd be interested to see photos of what the fixings are, as they're normally pretty secure. It is the fixing moving, rather than part of the toilet seat?

You could try using a top fix kit like this (https://www.toolstation.com/universal-top-fix-seat-bung-kit/p46310), just be sure to check the size you need. I don't normally like using top fixings, unless access is a problem, however it may stop the wiggling.

Ha, you'll not believe it but that looks identical to the toilet seat and fixtures I just removed and swapped out the other day (Laufen, I think), as the soft close mechanism has failed. That plastic nut was awfully tight to remove! I just bought a cheap soft close seat from Amazon for about £30 that had fixings included and it works great (I can send a link, if that's of use).

I'm not sure what else could fix it, as if the plate is moving from the clear membrane, then I can only assume it's not tight enough (there's quite a bit of grip on that membrane between the ceramic and metal plate).

Yes, a link would help thanks.:)
Ours is a square-ish type pan though, is yours?
