Hello all
I have been trying to remove the pulley from the drum without much success.
I have used a T40 torx screwdriver and power drill to remove it with no luck.
The washing machine is a smeg wmi12c7.

Any ideas on how I can remove this please?
Thanks in advance
Owen

Hi,

Quickly heating just the aluminium pulley center section using a MAPP gas torch might release it; but don't overdo the heat; at work we had a huge oven for heating motor end covers allowing bearings to be easily fitted. Good luck and be careful these pulleys are easily broken.

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

I've a bit more time now and have had a good look at your pictures Owen. The heat dodge won't work until you remove the Torx screw this could possibly be a flanged type screw similar to this;

If the screw is now messed up one useful option is to use a hammer and sharp cold chisel to shock it free;

The screw will need to be removed first before the pulley will release.

I hope this helps; without actually getting my hands on it's difficult offering advice but over the last 60 years I've removed many stubborn bolts and nuts; using hammer and chisel is as basic as it gets but it sure works.

Kind regards, Colin.

Cheers Colin.
Yes I think I'll need to cut out the screw.
Thanks again for the advice
