This wall is needled (think that's the right word) into a load bearing wall, the lintel runs across where it is highlighted and is resting on the one skin of the wall i am taking down. I am thinking of getting a disc cutter and cutting it flush with the wall but leaving the brick in and patching to maintain the support for the lintel. Would this work?

My other question is, this is in the utility and the wall with the lintel is the exterior wall to the house. Does this wall give any strength to the exterior wall?

I have already removed the outer skin but just wondering how to proceed.
