Patio Screen coating/coloring

Hi. I recently cleaned my patio screens with a simple 50-50 water/white vinegar solution, which worked fine to remove the dirt/pollen/mold/mildew that were on them (live in FL with lots of rain and humidity). I did not use a pressure washer, and only gently hand-wiped down the screens. I don't know if that removed some of the coating/coloring of the screens or what, because if the sun shines on them a certain way, they almost look like bare metal and it makes it hard to see out of. When the sun is not shining on them, the view is fine.

I think the screen material is a heavy duty fiberglass, due to the 18/14 mesh listing, and it is in a charcoal 'finish'. I suppose it could be aluminum, but most standard aluminum is 18/16, so that is why I am guessing fiberglass.

Is there anything that I could use to re-coat them so it would help with visibility when the sun shines on them?

Thanks.

I'd go matt black car spray for the inside and white car spray for the outside. just a light wafting each side so you don't get drips. less is more.

Thanks. Any particular reasoning for the white on the outside and black on the inside?

it doesn't have to be white on the outside, any colour will do, perhaps match the colour of the frame? But the black on the inside will allow you to see through very much easier.

I live in FL too, and this happens all the time. I have not seen any damage to the screen fibers themselves, and it doesn't look like there is any pealing or flaking. I just put it down to "They were dirty, now they're clean."

I haven't spray painted the screen, but I may do a panel on our back porch to see how it looks.

Well, if you do, let me know how that goes. I haven't done anything, because as long as the sun doesn't shine on it, my view isn't obstructed. Now that the sun has moved to the south, it hasn't been a big deal.
