Bought a GE GTW325ASWWW washer (Made in Louisville, KY) and GTX33GASKWW gas dryer (Mexico) on sale from Best Buy in December 2026. This was not the LG pair I wanted, but they were the only ones that would fit in my laundry room. Best Buy offered me a protection plan but having replaced a Whirlpool pair that lasted 25 years, I thought I didn't need one. At the time, I didn't know that you could even buy a major appliance with a 1-year warranty. Now I feel dumb for turning down the protection policy. I called Best Buy to ask if I could still sign up, but I was too late. Now GE is offering me a 5-year plan that's in addition to that extends the 1-year factory warranty to 6 years. I've read about repair issues with these units happening within the warranty year or right after the warranty expires (AI must have helped figure that out.). Should I go for the GE plan at $365? Or is there alternative protection plan I should look into. Looking forward to your replies. Many thanks, PW
