I am doing a bathroom renovation. Does anyone know what this wire is for running into the attic? It seems like a wire from a thermostat but didn't expect to find it there...

Thanks very much!

Well it is definitely a low voltage wire. It could be a Cat5e data cable, UTP telephone line, Certainly a thermostat switch for either an air handler or attic fan.

You know it has to connect on both ends, where does it connect to in the attic?

Thanks very much Don. As soon as I read your post I realized it must be an old phone line that is no longer used. There was a jack on the first floor in the kitchen that is no longer used/visible. I couldn't get to it in the attic to see it up close but the mystery is solved.
