can someone please help , my dishwasher will not complete a cycle it stops after the rinse I believe then the wash light flashes . also it is not cleaning anything particularly well and some of my cutlery appears to have burn marks on them ?? I'm being swayed to the heating element but any advice will be gratefully appreciated .

Check the thermistor of your dishwasher. It may be faulty. There may be something wrong in the heating cycle and very cold incoming water is coming into the dishwasher. You better to call a repairman.
