Low voltage mystery

Ok, please be patient with me. Lets do the "meter" thing again. Did you read post #11 above?

- Ensure your meter's dial is in the setting as shown in the firstmost picture of post #12
- Ensure the RED test lead is in the rightmost port of the meter.
- Ensure the BLACK test lead is in the leftmost port of the meter (This will leave the center port vacant).

Turn the converter ON at the wall switch, go test those wires coming from the tiled wall? They should NOT be getting hot.

If you read a weird reading like .0 or 0.00, then turn the dial clockwise 5 clicks to 200 V (or what's pictured in the 2nd picture of post #12)

Read the converter wires again....they should NOT be getting hot.

If you yet again get weird readings....we have to test the meter itself.

TEST METER: Leave the meter's dial in the position 200 V (or what's pictured in the 2nd picture of post #12)

Go to a known-live plug (socket/receptacle) and insert the leads into the left and right sides of any live plug. You should read approx. 120v

Let's try this?
