Hello all!

My neighbor recently took down a large tree and we have been helping remove and cut up a lot of the wood for fire wood. He is having the stump ground next week and I just had to try and get some slabs out of it before then. Never cut slabs myself before and my little chainsaw made it a bit difficult (16" bar) but i got a couple of them done!

So now that I've got the slabs. I will work to level them down. Likely with a router and jig system, but I am more concerned with keeping these fresh "cookies" from splitting as they dry.

Found Pentacryl online as a wood stabilizer. But not sure if that's what I need or what.. I'm looking to sand then down and apply a super light stain and then a heavy epoxy/seal to it.

Any insight would be great guys!
