Does a Dehumidifier affect Fridge/Freezer?

A quick question (I hope).

We had a water leak recently , which started upstairs and flooded the kitchen.

The floor area is now being dried out by a Dehumidifier (all the flooring has been removed).

Our Fridge/Freezer has now expired since the Dehumidifier was put in. Is this a coincedence? Because of the kitchen size , the device is next to Fridge.

Room humidity does have a small effect on the on how well the heat exchanger on the fridge/freezer dissipates heat from the fridge to the room but I really don't think this would be the cause of the failure.
