Ditra Mat

Advice please. When laying tiles over a chipboard floor have always previously used a 12mm marine ply board screwed to the chipboard then just tiled over. However I`ve a problem with tiles required to butt up to a 14mm laminate wood floor. Obviously a tile plus addesive plus the 12mm ply will not work unless I add a thick underlay under the laminate. However I`ve never used Ditra mat which I had hoped would solve the problem BUT on reading up it would appear that I still have to lay a ply board as well. To me that seem to defeat the objective. What advice have the "experts" on here got please.?
