Hi,
we recently tried to DIY re-do my bedroom: got a new carpet and new underlay beneath it. The problem is the underlay has raised the height of the carpet and it doesn't match the height of the carpet in the hallway.
When it came down to laying down the transition strip we put underlay under that too, but it just created a big bump on both my room's carpet and the hallway carpet right outside the door. It is utterly annoying to walk on, creates trip and very noticable and ugly. Researching for a strip to match both heights, a transition strip that would work on two heights, i found there was no such thing. Have a just not come across it? Is there any way to fix this problem?
Getting rid of underlay not an option.
