Change lighter electrode on hob

Hello i have an Electrolux Hob,the ignition lighter has cracked and not working, hoped i could change it from top ,but that does not work, do i need to take hob out of worktop, or can i change the faulty ignitor electrode from underneath leaving hob in place, thank you for any advice , Norman
