Mixer tap change cartridge

Hi,

I cannot seem to get at the cartridge to unscrew on my Howdens mixer tap. I have removed the lever but the cartridge is inset and there does not seem to be a way to remove what seems to be a shroud. Can anyone provide some help to alleviate my stupidity.
