Bathroom GFCI

I'm staying in a RV my GF I is in the bathroom we had some storms last week and the electric has been surging everytime it surges it trips my GFCI I have my refrigerator and a coffee pot on that GFCI what is wrong

It would be interesting to see if nothing was plugged in would it still trip.
