I need to rebuild my front porch which also doubles as a roof above my basement. The existing system uses 3/4" plywood, 1.75 " of mortar bedding and 1/2" of flagstone. Leaks like a sieve.

I would like to replace the 3/4" plywood, pour 2" thick concrete with fiber reinforcement and put down outdoor tile. I just don't have any other height options.

Total area is 7.5' x 24'. Existing joists are solid and 2" x 8".

Question: is the 2" concrete pour an acceptable design?

With no other information to go on, I would say no. Let’s go back and get some more detail. If this has been leaking you should closely inspect the joists for any rot. Even mold can be bad. I also am concerned about weight although it sounds like it would be a pretty even trade. Remember - SAFETY FIRST!
