This will hopefully convey the problem to Earth Latch Professors out there. Thanks

We had water leak from wc above kitchen & just a half pint of water each time & I assumed cause but now seems coincidence? I checked sockets & pulled out live & earths - no change.
2 old freebie full fridges without power for 3 days! No micro, aircook, kettle,tv,pc (but went black s=creen with "sector" problem same day? etc.
Can't use my PC & struggling with old laptop without my passwords or email, Google etc.
PLEASE HELP.
THANKS in anticipation.

NO PC. The reason I asked is it could be due to cumulative leakage. You said it is putting something additional on that then trips it, but not the same thing but anything additional?

The leak may or may not be coincidental, how do you know it wasn't near any electrics? It was above the Kitchen so would start the investigation there. Most likely the lighting, any ceiling lights that might have been near the leak?

Even if the leak wasn't near a light fitting there could be a junction box in the ceiling that was under the leak.

I take it you have tried unplugging absolutely everything you can and seeing if that makes any difference? Could be an appliance that is causing it.

But I would start with the Kitchen lights these things are rarely coincidental when there has been a leak.

There is no picture.

Hi, Thanks for your points. i am struggling with a lap top, no desk light (well, I am notallowed to add it) & the busy pages are difficult to navigate. I posted a pic. but accidentally to the post before you but expected all could see it. Loading on my laptop and attaching was a struggle.

I removed nearest ceiling light & opened sockets in wall plaster & pulled + & earth but no difference.

It so petulant in that it seems to be saying, regarding circuit loading, "oh, 3 items no. Back aGAIN (EARTH LATCH BATTLE, okay, you win. No, changed my mind"

Never a circuit fuse trip, always earth latch which I have battle for it clutches mechanism & may locks on.

Is that mechanically normal - no slipping & when grips it will fail to latch.

I am tempted to open up open it tomorrow & hope to bypass just to let me give the fridges a go.

I do have electronic knowledge.

Still with no toilet till this is sorted.

Any light or added milliamps below even 1A trips it.

Surely, if not sodden (wasn't) it would be drying & getting better? I used the gas cooker to dry anything.

Thanks
