There's gaps of about 2mm between the top of the skirting and the wall going up my stairs. I imagine this is because of movement in the stairs. Also there are gaps in the joints of my son's wooden stair banisters that I want to fill before I repaint them. Which flexible filler would be good for these gaps. I've used decorators caulk in the past above skirting but find it shrinks back and leaves a dip. Any advice gratefully received.
