What will happen?

I have got some old speakers so I decided to give then some knew life. I saw they used a small transformer converting the mains to 12v 1.4amp. I would like to use sone 12v batteries in a parrellel circuit but each battery is 12v 4.5amp so the total input of the batteries will be 12v 9amp. I'm new to this sort of thing so can someone please tell me what would happen if I connected the batteries and used the speakers.
