Water sealing exposed edge of undermount sink

When mounting an undermount sink and applying an adhesive to secure the sink in place and using mounting clips would you also apply a bead of calk for the purpose of a water seal around the exposed rim of the sink (finished surface) where it meets the underside of the countertop? I know what I would do and why but I'd like to know what others do.
