I wish to lay vinyl on my downstairs toilet floor. I previously laid vinyl directly on the current concrete/ply surface but it marked along the joins of the different levels.
It is two thirds concrete and one third plywood, the latter acting as a covering for a channel conveying piping to the radiator in the hall adjacent. I assume that access to this channel should not be permanently closed off.
Unfortunately the ply surface is slightly lower than its surrounding concrete. I have carefully cut a hardboard surface for the whole of the toilet floor enclosing the toilet bowl, thinking to lay the vinyl on this, but the uneven surface leaves a gap between the hard board and the ply, so that the hardboard hollows out, and raising the level of the edges.
Any ideas as to where here do I go from here?
Thanks
