tile / border size

Hi,

Do I have to buy the same size border as the tile??? Total novice here so please bare with me!!
I have found tiles which i like, they are 400x250x8mm

And a border which is 200x26x8mm

I intend to hang them portrait style in line with each other with the boarder running through the middle. My question is will it work because the border is shorter then the tile???

If you are grouting, the spacing will get off by a bit (200mm + ~1/8" grout + 200mm > 400mm). Might look better if you purposely offset them by ~100mm. Or don't have a gap/grout. Above assuming your measurements are exact. Good luck

i would say that if you cannot place the boarders so that a grout joint lines up with that of the main tile every 2 or 3 tiles apart in a regular pattern, then stagger them completely.....but start from the centre so that it is at least symmetrical on the each wall.
I know its a late reply, but it may help others.
