What should I use to smoke proof my floor in my flat?
It's in a house with 3 other flats.
Thanks

Hi

Do you mean there's smoke coming from the flat below, or is this for fire precautions ?

I want to smoke proof my flat as a precaution and to comply with building regs.

I’ve not heard of smoke proofing, but there is fire proofing of floors. You have many different options depending on the regulations in your area and standards of practice. There are several types of paints that you can use which add fireproofing to the flooring, and you can also use other substrates such as ceramic fireproof tiles to create flooring which will be fire resistant. One fire retardant paint I am aware of is Flame Stop which has a couple of different varieties depending on the type of surface you are applying it to. Due to latex allergies, we didn’t use this, but chose to go with the installation of fire retardant subfloors, which may or may not be an option for you.
