I have a small balcony that previously was slabbed and had a small furniture set on it.

Water was leaking under the slabs and through the membrane into the hall underneath so we had it redone with 3 layer torch on felt then bitumin sealed.

We would like to have furniture on the balcony again. Would it be OK to put the furniture directly on the new felt/painted surface or should we put paving supports and slabs? The space is around 1.5m square so not massive for a lot of traffic but I also don't want to ruin the torch on felt and end up having to replace quickly

We have a flat roof extension that has a roofing felt covering. These are usually polymer based so resist tearing. But if I need to attend to the gutters and have to put a ladder on it, I stand it on a sheet of plywood. If you are concerned, you could do something similar.

We were hoping to do something so we could walk out and sit out without having to put things in and out
