Should I go with 1 or 3 phase?

Hello! I just purchased a wood lathe for my shop that can be wired as a 1 or 3 phase motor. Since I am running new wire in the wall for this lathe would it be a good idea to run an extra hot wire (12/4) and make it a 3 phase? It's already setup as a 1 phase. It is a 2 horse motor and 100 amp service to the shop. Thanks for your input.

Evening Matt, I could be wrong. but recheck the name plate data on the motor. You normally can't wire a single pahse motor to be a three phase motor or visa versa.
