From my neighbour below there is quite a lot of speech/TV noise coming up through the floor, but also some noise the wall cavities (from the same underneath neighbour). The walls are brick.

Is the wall cavity noise likely to be coming off my floor and into the walls, or is this a case of the underneath neighbour's noise travelling directly into his wall cavities then moving upwards within the walls? Would soundproofing the floor (acoustic mineral wool, boards/mats) be likely to have any impact on the wall cavity noise?

As I say, most of the noise is coming directly through the floor anyway. Thanks in advance for any answers.

There are so many types of Floor Underlayment products, all good for soundproofing. I know they are not cheap. Hard to say if floor soundproofing will be enough as your noise problem is likely through doors, windows, vibrating through walls, ceiling and floor. Best you ask a tradesman directly on the effectiveness of different floor soundproofing. Best speak to an underlay specialist. Won't cost anything to get advice. Probably are folks with experience but I'd go on a tradesman site and ask.
