Want to paint a worn deck. I don’t know what the previous owner used for paint, but it’s 3 different colours of brown.

I would like to use “barn paint”—anyone have experience with using barn paint on a deck?

And I can’t seem to find barn paint by the pail-in Canada- that’s brown.
It doesn’t appear that white barn paint (by the pail) can be tinted.

Two issues here, please advise.

Home Depot advertises a thick coating for older decks. It looks good in the ads but I have never used it so I can’t vouch for it.

I have never seen paint look good on a deck after the first winter.

You will need to give it a really good clean to get rid of all the grease and moss first. Pressure washers work really well. Have you considered marine paint as an alternative? You should be able to get that in brown.
