I am installing a new kitchen in my house, after removing the old kitchen the floor is only tiled up to the units and then tiled fully under the stand alone cooker/fridge and washing machine. However the layout of the new kitchen will be slightly different the current one so the appliances and units will not sit level.

Am I right in thinking I can used a self levelling compound to fill the gaps and level the floor? The existing tiles cannot be bought anymore.

Can any recommend a levelling compound or another way of doing it

All help appreciated

Thanks

Self levelling compound should be totally fine. Try Mapei's Ultraplan - you may level the entire floor with it. AFAIK, it's slip resistant and dries up really quickly; should take no more than 5-6 hours before the surface is walkable.
