Hello,

Just moved into a house with a Waterside MC250 water softener installed. No previous experience in water softeners. Few days after moving in, it started producing an audible alarm that looked to be due to low salt level. Filled up with salt, but now need to reset it according to the instructions at the bottom of the lid (audible alarm still sounds). The instructions however don't mention how to do this, and there is no obvious button as such.

Does anyone know how to reset the MC250?

Thanks,

Mark

Found the answer by calling the BWT customer care. Sharing here for anyone else that might need it.

"In the event of a low salt situation the letters “LS” (low salt) will be displayed
on the control box display and an audible bleep will be heard whenever water
is used. To reset the alarm simply fill with tablet salt and press the up or down
buttons on the keypad (see picture below).
In the event of a power failure of more than 30 min duration, the cabinet
should be filled up to the top regardless of the low salt alarm being triggered.
This will ensure that the alarm is returned to its “full” status.
The salt container should always be filled to the top with tablet salt, and the
reset procedure only used when the display indicates “LS” (low salt).
NOTE: Pressing the up or down buttons, when “LS” is not displayed will result
in an alteration of the hardness setting."

Note that on the MC250 the display LS actually is made of the letter L and the number 5, so it will look like L5.
