I am asking this for my son-in-law. We purchased a new drop in stove to replace an old one in a rental house. The new stove has 4 wires to plug in. There is only a place for 3 wires. What should we do?
The new codes require a four prong plug because they want a neutral wire to to the stove. If a neutral wire is not in the box, you will need an electrician to upgrade the feed.
