So I had this great idea to build a grill table next to my new ceramic grill. It has cabinet space underneath and a cooler that opens up from the top. I was hoping to use it as a grill table and a buffet table for serving food outdoors. But I also want to be able to open up half of that countertop to put drinks and beverages inside a cooler. I'm trying to find the right countertop because stone is really heavy. I was looking at butcher block but I wanted something different because the rest of it's made of cedar. What sort of countertop would you use if you wanted half of the countertop to be able to open up and not be too heavy?

I would use copper. Yes copper. There is no safer metal to use around food. It has a great patina as it weathers and can be polished up in a matter of minutes.
Interesting. What would I find that and how much per foot?

I Akzo found this stone coat countertop. Looks like a Paint over wood
