I have old glass shower doors. I would describe them as obscure glass, with a wavy texture. I tried removing built-up dirt (Soap scum) and used Comet and a brush. I probably scratched the surface . Did not know glass surface may be scratched doing this. I have tried numerous cleaners. None worked. Is there a way to polish the glass, or do I have to live with it until I redo the bathroom?

Once you get it clean, consider using Rain-X or similar on it. While not a perfect solution, it does help to prevent build-up with periodic cleaning and reapplication. You do need to clean the glass and reapply the Rain-X now and then rather than just reapplying Rain-X over what's there to prevent it from building up a funky film. Keep in mind Rain-X can contribute to fogging, but if there's good ventilation to begin with this shouldn't be a problem.
