Hi

In our kitchen we have an airbrick. Until Spring this year we had a boiler in the kitchen but that has been replaced by a combi-boiler upstairs. But we do still have a gas cooker. With the current cold weather the airbrick is not helping - can I cover it or is this a big mistake?

thanks
Gavin.

I'd say if you have no damp on the external wall and poss an extractor hood in the kitchen then yes it will be ok to block it up. I have had them removed from my 100 yr old house in the bedrooms but they have caused damp patches because of the extrior walls needing pointing etc and the room not being able to "breathe". I'd not expect this to be the case in a kitchen.
