Bowl Valve Leaks

Replaced tree for bowl valve.
Now bowl valve does not seat. Not the new one even after rotating it on mounting screw.
Not the old one. Not even after rotating it. It was not a problem before.

Should have just stuck to my jerry rig of sash chain and ty-raps.

Thought about adding a weight to tree but was afraid the ball chain would break off the end of the tree.

Adjusted float level to highest position. Less leakage due to extra water pressure.
Still leaks down but not as much or as many tank refills. Hoping valve settles in tank seat.
May try hot water to get valve to shape/form to close better.
