US oven power problem

I bought a worktop oven from the US that is rated 1700 watts. I've now discovered that step-down transformers cost more than the oven itself. It's a very specialist oven, discontinued on both sides of the Atlantic: there are no alternatives, so I can't even cut my losses. Would a competent electrician be able to convert it (maybe by replacing the power supply)? Or could I use a (much cheaper) transformer designed for converting 110v power tools on worksites, with a plug converter?

Any advice much appreciated!

Various options here - all experimental!

Use a site transformer and hope it's happy on 50hz. If it's just resistive heaters and fans it should be fine.

Get a huge UPS from the states, modify the input circuit to take 230vac, or run it from a site transformer (it should tolerate various frequencies without bother). Note it would need to be an 'off-line' ups which runs from batteries constantly. This would give a nice clean 110v 60hz.

Get a huge 110v inverter and a huge battery charger and a huge battery and some huge cables.

Get a big 110v 60hz generator and plenty of fuel.

The first option is the only half sensible one. The rest are all jokes really. You'll have to try and see what happens.

You should use a transformer or a Voltage Stabilizer to fix this kind of problem.
