Well more vibration insulation.

We live in a conventional small semi detached house, built in the days when the internal walls were of brick, not stud partitions.
We found that with my new Yamaha Tyros 5 (it's the fourth Yamaha I've had, before that two Farfisas) in the front room with the bass turned up, even with the door of that room and the one in the lounge closed, my wife in the other room could sometimes feel the bass through her chair, even though she could hardly hear me playing the keyboard. That's because as well as treble speakers that sit on the back of the keyboard, there's a big sub-woofer/amplifier that sits on the floor
My wife who has MS occasionally buys fresh or fozen food on-line which is delivered in thick-walled polystyrene boxes of different sizes.

I save these to store bits of equipment in the garage and found one about the right size on which to set the speaker.
A white box would have looked a bit naff, so I bought a metre of black material to cover it. I'd be useless with a sewing machine or needle and thread, but I'm a wizz with stick-on Velcro.

Job done! No more vibration through the floorboards!

Handy tip! I also keep hold of those insulation boxes - they're always useful for something :).

Does it alter the sound quality at all, or does it just stop the unwanted vibration?

Doesn't affect the sound at all. Mind you it doesn't have to travel far, I'm sitting on the music stool a foot away.

I don't have that problem with my vinyl jukeboxes. They're in our tea-house at the bottom of the garden 90 feet away. I can play them quite loud, but never late at night.

Actually, there are a lot of things that you can do for this, there are pads that you can buy nowadays that absorb all the vibrations.
