Hi Everyone,

I'm Desperate for some advise ....

Some weeks ago, 7Wks to be precise I had the floor screed in my lounge and hallway removed due to a leak which had saturated the screed. The drying process initiated required the screed be removed and also due to the screed blowing during the drying process.

Now that the floor and walls are dry!!! Longest wait ever.

The contractor assigned to replace the original screed has advised that as the original screed was only mm thick (very thin) a Self leveling compound would have to be used instead of a screed with SBK. This was said to avoid cracking of a screed during drying.

The SLC they intend to use is B&Q's which i think is latex based.

Question is... should a screed be used instead of the B & Q SLC or am i better off with the SLC?
