Professional 600 Stand up Mixer

So I put gorilla glue on the metal ring that attaches to the front of the mixer. I had forgotten that gorilla glue is not food safe. The glue has bonded to the other metal on the front of the mixer. Is there any way that I can fix this? Is there a way to remove the ring without taking off the paint?

Well, I would suggest you post a picture or two. Its awfully hard to offer some help without a picture.
