Plastering problem.

Is it possible to plaster directly onto 50mm thick expanded polystyrene insulation ?
I have seen lime plaster used on walls filled with hay bales etc which leaves a fairly rough surface. I would want the smoothest possible finish.

you can only do it if you canfix some kind of eml onto it first

If you use expanding metal you can. But it is not the best.
