Painting over new floor

I have recently bought a brand new home. I decided not to carpet the main bedroom as I eventually want to cover it with natural oak flooring. I can't afford to do this at the moment and would like to paint over the existing (plaster?)board - the manufacturer's mark on it is caberfloor and is manufactured by Norebord. Can anyone recommend a good paint to cover this type of flooring (preferably using one coat)? Thanks!

If you have some nice floorboards don't paint over them, sand it down and varnish them

i would second what asm88 said. just varnish it for the meantime until such time that you could afford to cover it with natural oak flooring.

Or alternatively cover the larger floor areas with some cheerful, inexpensive rugs! Of course, this would also work to cover painted or varnished fllorboards nicely as well :)
