First time poster; long time fan.
I'd like to hang a heavy wood mail organizer onto the wall by drilling into a stud on the right side of a thermostat & light switch, and beneath a doorbell chime (see photo).
I'm having a hard time finding the stud (with my finder) and differentiating from other objects behind the wall, such as electrical.
Question: What steps can/should I take to safely and securely hang something in this area?
