I am willing to paint my kitchen but am wondering if there is anyspecial kind of paint that should be used.

Hey..you can use waterproof paint in slight dark color as it will help in preventing affects of water. Water affects the wall very badly so needs to take care of this. Dark color will help in keeping your wall safe from the dust and others.

Dark color for a kitchen is unique. It's not common because most people want their kitchen light-colored. So if you are feeling adventurous, paint your kitchen something dark.

Semi-gloss paint is good for kitchens. Its thick enough to be a vapor barrier which is a plus for kitchens and bathrooms. It can also help in keeping musty odors from getting in particularly if you have uninsulated walls.
