Intentional crack in ceramic tile

Our kitchen floor has just been relayed with ceramic tiles and there is a crack in 1 of the L shaped tiles. Our tiler has said that this was an intentional crack as the floor where the tile to be layed wasn't level - without doing this one side of the tile would have been higher than the other.

Is this true or are we being fed lies to cover up a cracked tile?

Thanks in advance.

HI

I can understand what your tiler is telling you, and the reason he has given you. But, a crack is not the way. If the surface is that out of true, the matter should have been dealt with before any tiling. The only other way this would be done is by cutting the tile correctly, possibly at a 45 degree angle, and letting the joint show in an honest way.
