Insulation question...

Hello forum, this is my first post. My question is can regular rolled insulation be put between studs in a 100 year old home? We’re doing one room at a time. The old plaster got removed and all that’s left is studs. The exterior is vinyl sided with new vinyl windows. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated... thank you for your time... Raymond...
