Hello,

I have a floor mounted gas fire in my lounge which I want to remove due to the large wall ventilation panel that exists - basically, we can't survive the artic temperaures anymore during the winter months !!

I am thinking of fitting a balanced flue wall hung gas fire. If so, it would mean blocking off the chimney base plus wall ventilation panel ??

Any problems with doing this

thanks

Fitting a balanced flue fire is not a problem providing that it is installed to manufacturers instructions.
They get there air from outside and do not require any vent in the room.

Ps there are a lot of gas fires inset and outset that do not need an air vent most that are under 7KW input but you must follow manufacturers instructions.
