False wood beams. Are these easy to take out?

I have these beams in the down stairs room of my house. They are all plastic with the larger one in the room going in the opposite direction being made from wood.

Has anyone taken these out before? If so how do I go about doing this and is it relatively easy to do?

I would drill a hole and see what's beneath them as they might be a curtain/façade for esthetic purposes.

They might be concealing structural components of your house.
